What an exciting time was had by some of our LYC students as they travelled to Europe with Mr. Bateman and Ms. Cobick last June! The group of 9 students and 4 parents, as well as the two staff members, left on June 14 and returned a week later excited and eager to share their stories of London and Paris.
The trip included such highlights as tours of Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, the Dungeon of London, Madame Toussaint’s Wax Museum as well as the Louvre and Disneyland Paris. They met other students from Montana and South Carolina and travelled together with knowledgeable guides from Explorica on the tube in London, the Chunnel across to France and the Metro in Paris. The Travel Club members felt like they walked hundreds of kilometers in their daily travels around both beautiful cities and many pictures were taken by everyone involved.
In both London and Paris, the group went on cruises down two of the most famous rivers in the world, The Thames in London and The Seine in Paris. At the end of each day a different restaurant was chosen to sample some of the different cuisine each country had to offer. This was, by all accounts, the trip of a life time and a wonderful way to end the school year.
